Unraveling Reality

Unraveling Reality
I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot.
I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.
I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.

Head in the Clouds

Today breakfast was not a reward for showering and getting dressed!
What a relief!

This weekend I taught my mom to crochet!
With a pair of glasses and some guidance I think she might get the hang of it.
(Unfortunately I won't be here to help her out)

In other news:

I have finished phase one of my Cozy Clouds shawl.
All of the grey portion is finished now I just need to do the white border and edging when I get back to school!

Here is what I plan the edging to look like.

The pattern is free! I found it on Pinterest the other day and I feel like it will be the perfect end to this project!

This weekend at home was beautiful!
The weather was decent everyday and I got to take my puppy dogs on a couple (muddy) walks. There is nothing like tiny muddy paws to put you in a good mood.

I also did some Goodwill shopping and snagged my self a lovely floral skirt that makes me morn for Spring all the more.

Seeing everyone here and being at home was a true comfort and a much needed stress cushion, I am now prepared to face the deluge of homework, quizzes and papers...
I think...

Cheers,
Cristyn

Love Actually...

...A few things I actually do LOVE:

1- Colonial Williamsburg; it is one of my favorite places ever. I am not a world traveler (yet!), but I know that out of all the cities in the world CW will always hold a special place in my heart.
It is beautiful and quaint, and it is never hard to imagine myself sitting outside reading, writing, or crocheting with all the lovely colonials!

2- Grey; something about the color grey just encourages me to snuggle up and take a nap.
Some of my favorite sweaters are this color and if I am ever in doubt (whether picking out cloths or choosing yarn) light cozy grey is always my go to.

3- That being said, I adore bright pastel-ly colors in a room. They liven up a mood, create space, and make me feel happy.

4-Thrifting; I frequent Goodwill more than is truly healthy and the antique shop in my home town is to die for.
I adore vintage, pretty much vintage everything.
Why buy it new when you can buy it old?

5- Coffee; as a college student it is a need, but for me that rich aroma and bracing taste is just as calming and relaxing as it is energizing

6- Haiti; if you have never been I will not push you to go. Visiting a third world country isn't for everyone, however if you ever do go I can guarantee you it will be a life changing experience.
As an anthropologist in the making the cultural codes were fascinating and in contrast with my own,
but as a human being the people were bright and friendly and full of life despite the hardships you could see all around them.

7- Crocheting
